Before STOP, Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman (STOP 43-47) worked as a Surveillance Officer and Area Coordinator with WHO Pakistan. Post STOP assignments, Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman currently holds the position of National Surveillance Coordinator (National Team Lead) with the WHO office in Pakistan.

STOP has built greatly my capacity to work with people of different backgrounds and with different levels of capabilities. Similarly, it helped me understand difficulties in different areas of the world. The experience of other countries broadened my vision and strengthened my technical and managerial skills to assess risks for quick decision support to Global Polio Eradication Initiative.”
