At a glance
- CDC revised select tables from the Analysis of Chemicals Found in Cigarette Smoke in a Special Sample of U.S. Adults, NHANES 2011-2016 section.
- The error omitted 18- and 19-year-olds from two strata: "total population" and "age 18-49 years."
- Revised tables include measurements for various chemicals; tobacco alkaloids and metabolites, volatile N-nitrosamine compounds (VNAs), and volatile organic compound (VOC) metabolites.
Revision of Select Tables from Analysis of Chemicals Found in Cigarette Smoke in a Special Sample of U.S. Adults, NHANES 2011-2016
CDC has revised select tables from the Analysis of Chemicals Found in Cigarette Smoke in a Special Sample of U.S. Adults, NHANES 2011-2016 section of the National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals.
The revised tables correct a statistical software programming error affecting estimates for National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) cycles 2013-2014 and 2015-2016. The previous version of the statistical software code omitted 18- and 19-year-olds from two strata: "total population" and "age 18-49 years."
