MMWR Introduction
The Friday, May 23, 2008, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) recognizes World No Tobacco Day, an annual event sponsored by the World Health Organization to help raise public awareness of the dangers of tobacco use. The MMWR issue also contains articles entitled "Tobacco Use among 13–15 Year Olds in Sri Lanka, 1999–2007" and "State Smoking Restrictions for Private-Sector Worksites, Restaurants, and Bars; United States, 2004 and 2007."
This year's theme of World No Tobacco Day is "Tobacco-Free Youth: Break the Tobacco Marketing Net." Additional information about World No Tobacco Day is available from—
