MMWR Introduction
The Friday, May 26, 2006, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) recognizes World No Tobacco Day, an event designed to help raise awareness of the dangers of tobacco. The MMWR issue also contains articles entitled “Use of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Among Students Aged 13–15 Years — Worldwide, 1999–2005” and “Tobacco Use Among Students Aged 13–15 Years—Kurdistan Region, Iraq, 2005.”
This year World No Tobacco Day focuses on the harmful health effects
