TB Centers of Excellence for Training, Education, and Medical Consultation
The CDC’s Division of Tuberculosis Elimination funds four TB Centers of Excellence for Training, Education, and Medical Consultation (TB COEs) for the project period 2018-2022. The TB COEs are regionally assigned to cover all 50 states and the U.S. territories.
The TB COEs support domestic TB control and prevention efforts with a focus on two major activities:
- Increasing human resource development through education and training activities (TB Training and Education Products Webpage)); and
- Increasing the capacity for appropriate medical evaluation and management of persons with TB disease and latent TB infection through medical consultation.
In addition, the TB COEs are members of the Federal Training Centers Collaborative (FTCC). The purpose of the FTCC is to increase collaboration among Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) funded training centers and maximize the use of training resources.
