Funding for Prevention Research Centers

Deadline for Applications: June 23, 2023 by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. 

CDC announces the availability of funding for the next cycle (2024-2029) of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Research Centers (CDC-RFA-DP-24-004), also known as Prevention Research Centers (PRCs).

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will provide funding to PRCs through 5-year awards to:

• Establish and maintain a multi-disciplinary PRC that conducts high-quality, applied public health research for health promotion and disease prevention.
• Conduct a dissemination and implementation core research project.
• Collaborate with partners who can help translate research findings into practice.
• Share research findings with community, practice, and academic audiences.
• Serve as a resource for other PRCs, as part of the PRC Network, for adapting, implementing, evaluating, disseminating, and translating evidence-based public health interventions at local, state, tribal, or national levels.
• Participate in the PRC Network to:
  • Leverage the expertise of the network members to inform individual core research project and center activities.
  • Advance the network’s collective impact in public health prevention research, policy, and practice.

Letters of Intent (LOIs) are due May 23, 2023. Although LOIs are optional, they are highly encouraged and should be emailed with “NOFO RFA-DP-24-004” in the subject line to researchnofo@cdc.gov. Please refer to NOFO “Section IV. Application and Submission Information, 3. Letter of Intent” for information to include.
