Evaluation of Health Hazards and Ventilation at Four Nail Salons
Finding salon employees working in positions that pose risks for developing musculoskeletal disorders and varying levels of ventilation in the salons, HHE Program investigators recommended ways to improve ergonomics during work tasks and improve general and local exhaust ventilation. Evaluation of Exposures at an Electronics Recycling Company
HHE Program investigators found employee exposures to metals, flame retardants, and peak impulsive sound levels exceeding 120 decibels. We recommended providing employees with a lead-removing product to wash their hands, re-training employees on the proper wear and use of respirators and ear plugs, and prohibiting dry sweeping to clean work areas. 2018 Health Hazard Evaluation Program Annual Report
The NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) Program is pleased to share its 2018 annual report. Our report includes summaries of projects that were interesting and other highlights of our year. We hope the report stimulates conversations about who the HHE Program is and how we make a difference for the health and safety of employees throughout the United States.
