Management structure for school screening
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) will provide turn-key testing options to school districts including management of all testing. DHHR has also collaborated with the West Virginia Primary Care Association to provide outreach and education to schools to promote testing and reduce fear and anxiety associated with COVID-19 and testing.
Support provided to school districts
Screening testing guidance document was developed and shared with K-12 schools and aligns with CDC Screening Testing Recommendations for K-12 Schools by Community Transmission. This document guides schools in selecting a plan as part of a layered approach to mitigating disease transmission in the school setting.
