Management structure for school screening

The Utah Department of Health’s (UDOH) COVID-19 K-12 testing team primarily oversees the direction and management of ELC Reopening Schools, with additional coordination from team members within the department’s Bureau of Emerging Infection.

Support provided to school districts

UDOH has launched a publicly available COVID-19 data dashboardexternal icon, including pages with school-specific information (available on the Schools tab) to inform local decision makers that provides daily data on active cases, transmission rates, hospitalizations, and vaccination rates. UDOH also provides daily updates on the percentage of active cases in school populations for the purposes of monitoring and implementing Test to Stay mitigation proceduresexternal icon. (i.e., school-wide testing required by Utah law when schools reach a certain threshold of active COVID-19 cases within the school population) These updates are provided publicly and are also communicated directly to local school coordinators.
