Actions: In response to the outbreak, Oceania Cruises and the crew aboard the ship reported the following actions:
- Increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures to Level 3 according to their outbreak prevention and response plan.
- Collecting stool specimens from passenger and/or crew gastrointestinal illness cases for testing and sending specimens to the CDC Calicivirus lab.
- Making twice daily reports of gastrointestinal illness cases to VSP.
- Consulting with VSP on plans for their comprehensive sanitation cleaning procedures in Miami, Florida, on April 1, 2019.
