National Notifiable Diseases
CDC’s Waterborne Disease Prevention Branch uses data from the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) to help public health departments and stakeholders monitor, control, and prevent waterborne diseases in their local communities.
Data and statistics about national notifiable diseases and conditions are collected by reporting jurisdictions through their reportable disease surveillance programs. Waterborne diseases that are considered notifiable vary from state to state.
