Adults 65+ Flu Vaccination Coverage

Influenza vaccination coverage among Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries 65 years and older is assessed using data files from the Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) administrative claims data managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Weekly influenza vaccination coverage estimates were calculated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, based on beneficiaries enrolled as of August 1 at the start of each flu season (example: Aug 1, 2021) until the end of the current season reporting time period or the end of May the following year for prior seasons (example: May 28, 2022). Influenza vaccines received since August 1 of each season, among adults who were 65 years or older as of the end of the first year of the season (e.g., December 31, 2025, for the 2025-26 season), were included.
