Subject matter experts (SMEs) from the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) presented on innovative education and outreach events called soilSHOPs (Soil Screening, Health, Outreach, and Partnership) and childhood lead poisoning prevention efforts. In this webinar, you will also learn about ATSDR's regional soilSHOP events that commemorated Earth Day 2023.

Dr. Dawnovise (Dawn) Fowler, PhD, LMSW
Dr. Fowler is the Chief of the Community Engagement Science and Interventions Section (CESIS) in the Office of Capacity Development and Applied Prevention Science at ATSDR. Dr. Fowler leads CESIS in the development and implementation of best practices for effectively engaging communities and health professionals to address environmental health.
Leann Bing, BS
Ms. Bing is an Environmental Health Scientist with the Office of Community Health and Hazard Assessment at ATSDR. Her work involves protecting communities from exposure to toxic chemicals from Superfund, brownfields, and emergency hazardous waste sites.
Perri Ruckart, Dr.PH, MPH
Dr. Ruckart currently serves as the Team Lead for the Program Development, Communications, and Evaluation Team at CDC’s Lead Poisoning Prevention and Surveillance Branch (proposed). She has also worked as a co-principal investigator for studies of contaminated drinking water and adverse health outcomes at Camp Lejeune and as a technical consultant for the National Toxic Substance Incidents Program.
