Stroke Hospitalization Rates for 2013 through 2015 for Blacks Aged 65 Years and Older by County. The map shows that concentrations of counties with the highest stroke hospitalization rates - meaning the top quintile - are located primarily in eastern Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, south Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. There is also a small concentration in the northern California region including Tehema and Butte Counties, eastern Washington state, and eastern Nevada.
