VTrckS Update
"When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us."
-Alexander Graham Bell
Thank you for a productive 2011. This is the final edition of the VTrckS Connection newsletter this year. When the first edition in 2012 is distributed, the first Wave of Spend Plan users will be underway with deployment activities.
Deployment preparations have commenced. CDC would like to thank all grantees for their participation in the VTrckS Deployment/Readiness Survey in September as well as the follow-up telephone calls in October and November. Utilizing your important input and feedback, we are now happy to announce that the VTrckS Deployment Schedule has been finalized. As shown in the diagram below, this schedule accomplishes the transition to VTrckS Spend Plan for all grantees by September 2012 and the transition to full VTrckS functionality for all grantees by May 2013. Outreach to grantees by CDC, including weekly Flash Calls, monthly Grantee Community Calls, and Modules and Manuals will begin shortly based on grantee deployment dates for Spend Plan and full VTrckS functionality.
In December 2011, Modules and Manuals (MMs) will kick off for Spend Plan pilot grantees. This includes grantees that will transition to Spend Plan in March 2012.
In February 2012, the Program Managers Meeting (PMM) will be held at CDC in Atlanta, Georgia. Please be sure to send topics that you would like CDC to cover to askvm@cdc.gov. We look forward to an informative and educational event featuring VTrckS Release 2.0 previews and hands-on practice in the VTrckS training environment.
Learning the Lingo
VTrckS terminology can be unique and different than what you’re accustomed to hearing. Each month we’ll share a few new terms
- VTrckS Direct Track: Option for grantees who will enter provider orders or have their providers order directly into VTrckS
- ExIS Track: Option for grantees who will have their providers order into an internal registry
