STD Health Equity - Rates by Gender

This area illustrates disparities in STD rates among men and women. These are based on numbers found at http://www.cdc.gov/std/stats/.

Select disease to see differences in rates of chlamydia and syphilis by gender. Rates are the number of reported cases per 100,000 population. See STD Surveillance 2011.

CDC recommends annual chlamydia testing for all sexually active women ≤ 25 years old. Higher reported chlamydia case rates in women are likely due to the testing recommendation.
