In an interactive workshop, participants learn and practice selling and communication skills for encouraging youth-serving organizations to use a science-based sexuality education program (that is, a program demonstrated by research to be effective). Participants practice introducing (selling) a curriculum to administrators (such as the chair of a Parent-Teacher Association, principal of a high school, or executive director of a youth-serving organization).
Audience
The workshop is intended for all members of the youth-serving community, such as health risk specialists, youth development and after school program managers and volunteers, adolescent health advocates, public health and health care practitioners, parents, researchers, policymakers, funders, civic leaders, and social services professionals.
Duration
4 hours (for 24 or fewer participants). The workshop is recommended in conjunction with, "Are You Sending the Right Message?: A New Vocabulary for Teen Pregnancy."
