This interactive CD-ROM is in four parts of increasing level of complexity. Part one discusses the terminology of health disparities, health inequities, and health inequalities. Part two provides examples of measures of health disparities, demonstrating that the size of the disparity depends of the methods of measurement. Part three develops the technical measures of health disparity. Part four uses Excel spreadsheets to illustrate how the measures are created and used.
Audience
The course is intended for people working in public health, including community-based organizations, health care organizations and health plans, nonprofit organizations, education agencies, and state and local health departments.
