This course covers the development and use of budgets as planning and management tools for organizations. Participants develop an understanding of financial constraints and their effect on costs and revenues. Participants also learn how to use various measures of cost in making planning and operating decisions for their organizations and how to apply concepts to situations faced by their organizations. The course illustrates how to develop ways of measuring the cost of various public health and health care services.
Audience
The course is intended for people working in public health, including community-based organizations, health care organizations and health plans, nonprofit organizations, education agencies, and state and local health departments, who want to build the capacity of their organizations and manage growth.
