This training, offered by the Rocky Mountain Health Equity Academy and the Colorado Regional Area Health Education Center, is tailored for community-based organizations (CBOs). The goal is to help CBO staff translate knowledge and expertise into a well-crafted proposal for funding and to leave the training with a draft grant application. The applications focus on obtaining funds to develop, implement, and evaluate sustainable projects aimed at reducing disparities in heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and lung disease.
The training is delivered in 3 phases: 1) the assessment phase, which helps the trainers tailor the modules to a specific region or group of CBOs; 2) the workshop phase, during which trainers deliver the tailored modules; and 3) the consulting phase, when the trainers consult with each CBO that attended the training and help each organization refine its grant application.
Audience
The training is open to CBO staff—located in Colorado—who are involved or interested in seeking financial resources through grants.
Duration
The workshop phase lasts 3–6 days. The training is offered 3 times per year.
