Immunization
A multidisciplinary team of experts are designing, conducting, and analyzing surveys of providers and public health officials to collect information on issues in immunization delivery policy relevant to CDC’s National Immunization Program (NIP). The study team, with the aid of leaders at the American Academy of Family Physicians, is recruiting primary care practices throughout the United States to serve annually as sites for rapid-response e-mail surveys. Public health officials are being identified through the National Association for County and City Health Officials’ database of approximately 1,100 active members. A Web site bulletin board will enable participants to chat online in real time, discuss survey questions, and contribute to planning and coordinating collaborative studies. This Internet-based method strives for easy implementation, low cost, quick response, and high response rates so that providers and public health officials can give timely feedback on immunization delivery policies and enable NIP to refine such policies.
