Three centers are collaborating with colleagues and partners in developing, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating advanced courses in Coordinated School Health Programs (CSHP) to promote their use by current and aspiring school administrators. Courses in CSHP are being offered through masters programs in school administration and through continuing education for school principals. The researchers are also developing a document to promote the benefits of the eight components of effective CSHP: health education, physical education, health services, nutrition services, health promotion, counseling, healthy school environment, and family and community involvement, as defined by CDC’s Department of Adolescent and School Health.
