This project establishes a Center of Excellence for the WISEWOMAN and Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity Prevention Programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The work of this center is guided by a national advisory board comprising state-level practitioners; experts in nutrition, physical activity, obesity, cardiovascular health, intervention translation and dissemination; representatives from several Prevention Research Centers; and CDC leaders. The board will provide direction and specify strategies for the center, which will 1) provide ongoing, targeted training for public health workers, 2) translate intervention research into practical and replicable models, and 3) develop tools for dissemination to public health workers.
Additional information about the project is available on its Web site.
