To analyze the treatment of ovarian cancer for women in the United States, population-based datasets for five diverse states (California, Washington, New York, Florida, and Massachusetts) will be linked. Records for women who received a diagnosis of ovarian cancer from 1991–2002 will be examined by the following factors: place of care, surgeon, hospital, treatment, and medical outcome. This study will determine if there are differences in the medical outcomes due to the factors. Recommendations to improve the clinical treatment of ovarian cancer will be made according to the analysis.
