Reported cases of Rocky Mountain spotted fever in the United States, 1996-2002
 

Between 1996 and 2000, the number of cases of Rocky Mountain spotted fever in the United States fluctuated between 400 and 600 cases per year. Between 2000 and 2002, the number of cases steadily increased to approximately 1,500 cases per year.
