Jeanette St. Pierre, MA, MPH

Health Communications Officer, Office of Public Health Genomics, CDC

Ms. St. Pierre joined the Office of Public Health Genomics in June 2006, and is the team leader of the communications team which develops and leads the overall communication strategy and activities for the office. Ms. St. Pierre was previously with the Division of Bacterial and Mycotic Disease in the former National Center for Infectious Disease at CDC, as a health communication/education specialist for IDSR (Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response) in the African region. She developed and coordinated communication and educational strategies and tools for surveillance and laboratory support for response to outbreaks of priority infectious diseases in 46 African countries. Prior to this position, Ms. St. Pierre was with CDC’s former Division of International Health, as program manager for an international communication network of applied epidemiology and laboratory training programs in 32 countries worldwide. Ms. St. Pierre received her BS in Community Health Education from the University of Maine in 1997, and her MA in communication and MPH in epidemiology from Georgia State University (GSU) in 2008. She is currently working on her PhD in communications and public health also at GSU.
