HPV Vaccine Video

Researchers from the University of Kentucky PRCexternal icon developed and tested a DVD titled “1-2-3 Pap” that encourages Appalachian women to complete the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine series. Women viewed the 13-minute video on individual laptops using headphones. The women who watched the DVD were 2.44 times more likely to complete the series than the women who received standard care. This model has the potential to be adapted and repeated in other underserved areas with high rates of cervical cancer.
