PRC Issue Briefs
Issue Briefs focus on an issue or topical theme from the 2019–2024 funding cycle. Topics can be on specific health issues such as mental health or youth and family health, or they can focus on how Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) conduct their research through partnerships or community health workers.
Social determinants of health (SDOH) are conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, and play that affect a wide range of health and quality-of-life risks and outcomes. Read more about how PRCs are working to address various SDOH across diverse communities.
PRCs engage with their communities to develop and carry out evidence-based programs to increase the awareness of mental health as a public health issue and to benefit the communities they serve.
Many PRCs are working to expand access to health care, increase physical activity, decrease substance use, and address other health topics in rural America.
