Using the CDC BMI-for-Age Growth Charts to Assess Growth Among Children and Teens Aged 2 to 20 Years in the United States

Start Course - Using BMI for Age Chart

Welcome to the online training course, Using the CDC BMI-for-Age Growth Charts to Assess Growth in the United States Among Children Aged 2 to 20 Years.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend that health care providers in primary care settings in the United States use the 2000 CDC BMI-for-Age Growth Charts to monitor the growth of children and teens aged 2 to 20 years with BMIs up to the 97th percentile and the 2022 CDC Extended BMI-for-Age Growth Charts for children with very high BMIs (above the 97th percentile).

CDC developed this interactive course to train health care providers on how to use the BMI-for-Age Growth Charts to assess growth among children and teens aged 2 to 20 years.
