Percentage without High School Diploma Ages 25+, 2010-2014. Counties with the highest percentage without a high school diploma for 2010-2014 were located primarily in southwestern Texas, central California, the lower Mississippi River area, the Appalachian Region of Kentucky, and rural Alabama and Georgia. The range in the percentage of the population ages 25 and older with less than a high school degree was between 1.3% and 53.3%.

Geographic Patterns: Counties with the highest percentage without a high school diploma for 2016-2020 were located primarily in Puerto Rico, Texas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and Georgia. Pockets of high-rate counties are also found in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Washington, and New Mexico. The range in the percentage of the population ages 25 and older with less than a high school degree was between 1.4% and 78.1%.
