Georgia Disease Detectives

Building the Nation’s Frontline COVID-19 Disease Detectives

Funded through the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Program, Career Epidemiology Field Officers (CEFOs) are frontline disease detectives that help states, tribes, localities, and territories prepare and respond to routine and even dire public health emergencies. Ensuring we have CEFOs in every jurisdiction can keep our communities safe and help our nation respond rapidly to both expected and unexpected public health threats.
