At a webinar on Oct. 18, NIOSH researcher Andy Cecala will present findings from mining research that may help the construction industry reduce silica exposure of workers in enclosed cabs.

The Center for Construction Research and Training is hosting the webinar for the industry. Two representatives from the OSHA Directorate of Standards and Guidance will also speak, and the presentation will discuss requirements under Table 1 of the new silica standard for enclosed cabs.

Silica exposure is an ongoing concern in mining, and research findings from NIOSH Mining may prove useful for the construction industry.

The one-hour webinar begins at 1 p.m. EDT. The presentation is free, but registration is required.
