Conference Goals and Objectives

The goals of the Conference are to provide information that will help participants provide comprehensive immunization coverage for all age groups and explore innovative strategies for developing programs, policy, and research to promote immunization coverage for all age groups. Many topics will be presented and discussed, with special emphasis on:

Adolescent Immunization * Adult Immunization
Communications * Epidemiology * Immunization Information Systems

HPV Vaccine * Programmatic Issues * Surveillance * Vaccine Safety

Conference Overview

The 1st National Immunization Conference Online (NIC Online), a virtual conference, will take place in the spring of 2012. The conference will be entirely online. No travel is required for presenters or attendees.

Registration: there is no cost to participate in the NIC Online. Pre-registration is not available. Attendance at live workshops is limited to the first 1000 people to log in at the start of each session. Log-in instructions will be posted here when available.

Posters: abstracts will be accepted for online poster presentations.

Workshops: invited speakers will present remotely over the internet and telephone in a series of live, web-based sessions attended by up to 1000 people. Workshops will include multiple presentations and will be one hour in length, and will be recorded. Recordings will be made available on the internet after the conclusion of the conference for on-demand viewing.

Test your computer and connection: If you are able to successfully join this test meeting in the WebEx Event Center,exit site your computer and internet connection meet at least the minimum required specifications for participation in the live workshop sessions.

Submit Your Abstract

Please be aware that abstracts are being accepted for poster presentation only at this year's online conference. The deadline for abstract submission will be February 3, 2012. All abstracts submitted will be reviewed by CDC subject-matter experts.

Update, February 1, 2012: the deadline for abstract submission has been extended for one week, to February 10, 2012.

Authors of abstracts accepted for poster poster presentation will be notified via email on or about March 1, 2012. Presenters will have the opportunity to upload a poster file and/or handouts in a variety of different formats. Abstracts and poster/handout files will be available for review on the Web.

Online poster presentations provide a unique opportunity for presenters. Because the posters will be viewed in a virtual environment, an almost-endless array of types, sizes, and formats of display are available to you.
