City
General information is available from the Stockholm Visitor's Center.

Transportation from the airport to the city
Arlanda Airport is located north of Stockholm (map). The city can be reached by taxi, train and airport coach. Taxi costs about 450 SEK and one should ask for a fixed price.

The train company Arlanda Express takes you to the city in 20 minutes. Timetables, prices and other information can be found at http://www.arlandaexpress.com/en/.

Information about the bus company, Airport Coaches, can be found at http://www.flygbussarna.se/en/default.asp where timetables, prices and other information can be found.

Transportation from the hotels to Karolinska Institutet
From the closest hotel Elite Palace Hotel) people can walk to the congress venue (a map will be posted soon).

The Institute can be reached by the bus line # 47 from a stop in the city very close to where most of the hotels are located (campus map). The stop marked adjacent to the venue is the terminal stop of the line called Tomteboda.

The alternative way is by subway (T-bana) to the station S:t Eriks plan on the green line (subway map) and then by bus line # 3 towards Karolinska sjukhuset (bus map) to the marked stop at the Karolinska Institute (campus map). This is a faster way as both the T-banan and bus # 3 have a higher frequency in their timetables than # 47 have.

At the site http://www.sl.se/english/ some information on the local transit, bus, subway and commuter trains, as well as information on ticket prices can be found. (The same tickets are valid for all public transport within Stockholm County except Airport coaches and Arlanda Express.)

Weather
Most of Sweden has a cool temperate climate, with precipitation in all seasons. Sweden is shielded from rainy Atlantic weather systems and can be influenced by high pressure over Russia, giving fine weather instead. Stockholm has an average of about nine hours of sunshine daily from May to July and early summer temperatures around 68-77°F or 20-25°C.
