Report Back General Session #3

Dave Alexander, Auburn Engineers

MR. ALEXANDER: Why don't we go ahead and get started on the final session on the program, and certainly it's my pleasure to thank OSHA and NIOSH for sponsoring the two-day program. From my standpoint it's been a tremendous success and it's been a pleasure to be part of it. And frankly, I'd like to take an opportunity to thank the other speakers and moderators who've been part of the program for the last couple of days. With ease and grace, they've made their jobs look easy, but frankly there's been a lot of planning going on behind the scene, and they certainly have worked to make that happen.

Finally, I'd like to thank the participants, because frankly a conference like this is a lot more exciting and fun with 1,000 people present than with 50 people present. And I have been there when 50 people were present, and it's neat to see the excitement and energy around ergonomics and feel the movement coming.

As far as the protocol this afternoon, we're going to follow a standard format that you've seen before; we have seven moderators who will be wrapping up on ergonomic program management issues, and we're going to just take those in order. Each moderator will have five minutes to run through their session, then we'll have an opportunity for dialogue and discussion and questions and so on.

So why don't we go ahead and get started, and our first presenter is going to be Bradley Evanoff from Washington University, talking about Health Aspects.
