State Surveillance Portfolio
For over 20 years, NIOSH has provided technical and financial assistance to states to develop and/or enhance their occupational safety and health (OSH) surveillance capacity. In FY2010, the OSH state surveillance portfolio grew from 15 to 23 states, a 60% increase for these five year cooperative agreements. The map provides a geographical reference for the location and activities associated with each funded state program.
As part of its state partner surveillance program, NIOSH supports two program awards: the Fundamental Program Award, which collectsOccupational Health Indicator data; and the Expanded Program Award which carryout activities associated with the Fundamental Program, and that focus on specific diseases, injuries, hazards, or special populations. The Annual Performance Reports listed below provide a state-specific summary of the major activities, accomplishments, outputs and outcomes.
