Letter to All Respirator Manufacturers

March 31, 2009

SUBJECT: Respirator Manufacturers Meeting May 12th, 2009

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), is hosting a meeting for all respirator manufacturers. All manufacturers and other interested parties are welcome to attend.

The meeting will be on May 12th, 2009, and will be held at the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Airport Hotel, 8402 University Boulevard, Moon Township, Pennsylvania. A sleeping room block has been set up for the evening of May 11th, 2009. To make hotel reservations, please contact the DoubleTree Hotel Pittsburgh Airport directly at 1-412-329-1400 or 1-800-222-tree. By mentioning the NIOSH-NPPTL meeting, a discounted rate of $114 per night will be granted. The reservations need to be made on or before 4/20/09 in order to secure the discounted rate. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Driving directions can be found at www.pittsburghairport.doubletree.com.

The formal presentations will begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 12th, 2009 and are scheduled to end at 2:30 p.m. There will be time left at the end of the presentations for appointments or break out sessions with NPPTL personnel. Please contact NPPTL staff directly if you require an appointment after the meeting, or if you would like to schedule meetings the day before or after the meeting. There is a posted agenda for the discussion topics.

Please complete the registration form in advance, if you are planning to attend. You may register electronically or download the Adobe PDF version of the registration form and send it by e-mail to kvh7@cdc.gov or fax 412-386-4051.

If you are interested in participating in a laboratory tour at our facility on May 11th or May 13th, please fill out the appropriate space on the registration form. American citizens will need a drivers license or valid identification to access our facility. Foreign visitors will be required to fill out an extra form for security approval, return it to us at least 14 days prior to the laboratory tour in order to gain access, and must show a valid passport for entry.
