Activities Proposed for FY 05

Antimicrobial Resistance, Food Safety, Hepatitis Prevention and Control, National Electronic Disease Surveillance System, West Nile Virus, and General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity


Key Performance Indicators

Antimicrobial Resistance
  • Attend annual CDC seminar on AR related materials.
Food Safety
  • Form outbreak working group with appropriate representation.
  • Get access and training for data entry into EFORS.
  • Initiate educational meetings with disease surveillance investigators (DSIs).
  • Begin submitting outbreak information through EFORS.
  • Assess timeliness and completeness of EFORS submissions for the year.
Hepatitis Prevention and Control
  • Link HCV Surveillance activities to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Update information provided to individuals when added to HCV registry.
  • Develop protocol for assessing needs of chronic HBV case contacts.
National Electronic Disease Surveillance System
  • Sustain ongoing standards-based interoperable Public Health Information Systems Development.
West Nile Virus
  • Maintain 100 percent reporting and investigation of cases of aseptic meningitis, encephalitis, WNV Meningoencephalitis (WNVE).
  • Attend National WNV Conference.
General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
  • Use information gained at the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases to address public health issues.
