Activities Proposed for FY 05

Antimicrobial Resistance, Food Safety, Hepatitis Prevention and Control, Influenza Surveillance and Response, National Electronic Disease Surveillance System, West Nile Virus, and General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity


Key Performance Indicators

Antimicrobial Resistance
  • Our attendance at the annual CDC conference will provide an update to current trends in antimicrobial resistance as well as effective counter measures.
Food Safety
  • DPDx services will be supervised by the parasitology supervisor in conjunction with the NDPHL Director.
Hepatitis Prevention and Control
  • The Hepatitis C Coordinator will attend the national hepatitis prevention conference for updates and new methodology.
Influenza Surveillance and Response
  • The Influenza Surveillance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Syndromic surveillance epidemiologist on influenza-like illness data submitted through ER's around the state on a weekly basis.
National Electronic Disease Surveillance System
  • Effectiveness will be measured through the enhancement of notifiable condition surveillance and disease control capabilities.
West Nile Virus
  • Any contractual agreements or services will be supervised by the ELC Coordinator in conjunction with the State Epidemiologist.
General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
  • Attendance at the International Conference for Emerging Infectious Diseases conference will provide an update to current trends worldwide.
