Activities Proposed for FY 05

Food Safety, Hepatitis Prevention and Control, National Electronic Disease Surveillance System, West Nile Virus, and General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity


Key Performance Indicators

Food Safety
  • Contribution of PulseNet data that is critical in detecting associations between different cases of selected enteric bacterial infections and leads to recognition and interruption of outbreaks and disease transmission.
  • Representation on all quarterly teleconferences and participant contribution at an appropriate level.
Hepatitis Prevention and Control
  • Comparison of proportion of high risk patients vaccinated for hepatitis A and hepatitis B who have complete data entered into the web based immunization registry.
National Electronic Disease Surveillance System
  • A continued interaction within the Surveillance community will support the coalition.
West Nile Virus
  • A continued provision of the surveillance data for the department web site as well as surveillance reports to our cooperators will serve to monitor our progress.
General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
  • Reports on tick identification and mammalian seroprevalence of vectorborne human infections are delivered each year to the Epidemiology Program.
  • Participation and contribution of Laboratory staff in quarterly meetings of two working labs.
  • Disease reports received form the medical director.
