Activities Proposed for FY 05
Antimicrobial Resistance, Food Safety, National Electronic Disease Surveillance System, West Nile Virus, General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
Key Performance Indicators
Antimicrobial Resistance
- Show evidence of efforts to promote appropriate antibiotic use in the community.
Food Safety
- Database modification: Create a database that combines PFGE results and PulseNet pattern numbers with our epidemiologic surveillance data to allow easier access and analysis of LAC data.
- Provision of agenda and minutes for the monthly joint Public Health Laboratory/ ACDC meetings will serve as reference to progress. Adding minutes and an action plan would help us to follow through on items discussed in the meetings.
National Electronic Disease Surveillance System
- Continue to share information with other participating departments.
West Nile Virus
- Update the WNV presentation for general audiences for the Speakers Bureau Training.
- Develop and publish WNV health education posters to reinforce information in a variety of public arenas.
General Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity
- Each discipline of our department will develop individual management techniques.
