Examples of CDC's Work on Mental Health/Mental Illness
The CDC has funded work in the area of mental health through collaborations with scientists working with the Prevention Research Centers. This effort was initiated to focus not only on preventing and treating mental illness but also addressing ways to help those who are mentally healthy maintain their mental health status. It is clear that in order to promote the mental health of the nation, public health must address the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of the population by addressing the social determinants of mental health and health in general.
