Figure 3.3. While the incidence rate of acute hepatitis B remained higher for males than females, the gap has narrowed between 2000 and 2011. Incidence rates of acute hepatitis B decreased for both males and females from 2000 through 2011. In 2011, the rate for males was approximately 1.7 times higher than that for females (1.18 cases and 0.69 cases per 100, 000 population, respectively).
