These fact sheets combine results from the 2009 state,

YRBS and 2010 state and district
School Health Profiles surveys to
- Identify the percentage of high school students who smoke cigarettes and who use other tobacco products including smokeless tobacco
- Describe state and local characteristics of health education, partnerships with the community, and the school environment among middle and high schools that may help address the problem

*States, districts, and territories listed above had weighted data for both the 2009 YRBS and 2010 Profiles. This means that for YRBS, the site achieved at least a 60% overall response rate. For Profiles, the site achieved at least a 70% school response rate. With weighted data, it is possible to say, for example, "X% of high school students in our state smoked cigarettes during the past month and X% of middle schools and high schools in our state taught tobacco use prevention education."
