Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska receives funding from CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to conduct the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS).

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska reservation is located in northeastern Nebraska in Thurston County, approximately 25 miles from Sioux City, Iowa. The goal of this program is to advance the knowledge of critical health related behaviors among high school students through data collection and dissemination.

Program In Action

Conducting the Youth Risk Behavior Survey

  • Administering the YRBS in Winnebago Public Schools to obtain data representative of students in grades 9–12.
  • Creating a report to summarize the YRBS results.
  • Disseminating the results of the YRBS to local agencies, parents, students, and other tribal communities.
