file an asthma action plan for all students with known asthma.
Activities
- Disseminate updated medication (focus on asthma and allergy) and food allergy policies through online trainings, distribution of educational materials, in-person trainings, administrative memos, and asthma posters throughout the district.
- Provide information about medication and food allergy policies at all professional development events and education sessions for school clinicians and staff.
- Provide information about medication and food allergy policies at asthma education and management sessions to students with asthma and their parents at identified high-risk schools.
- Improve district-wide dissemination of new and existing asthma and allergy policies, information, and resources through a Web site for staff, students, and families.

schools that implement a policy permitting students to carry and
self-administer asthma medications in both of the following ways:
- Communicate the policy to students, parents, and families.
- Designate an individual responsible for implementing the policy.

schools requiring that all school staff members receive training on
recognizing and responding to severe asthma symptoms that require immediate
action, as a part of annual staff development.
Activities
- Conduct district-wide asthma management education sessions for social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists working in schools.
- Conduct district-wide asthma management education sessions for physical education teachers and coaches.
- Development and implementation of Environmental Online Module for all district staff specifically targeting building engineers, custodians, administrators and teachers.
- Build asthma education and resources into multiple outreach opportunities and professional development offered by the coordinated school health and clinical departments.
