1 “During the past two years, has your state provided funding for or offered staff development on each of the following topics to mental health or social services staff? This might include workshops, conferences, continuing education, graduate courses, or any other kind of in-service: (a) tobacco use cessation, (b) alcohol or other drug use treatment, (c) counseling after a natural disaster or other emergency or crisis situation, (d) crisis intervention for personal problems, (e) emergency preparedness, (f) identification of emotional or behavioral disorders, such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD, (h) stress management (i) weight management, (j) eating disorders treatment, (k) identification of or referral for physical, sexual, or emotional abuse (l) identification of or referral for students with family problems, such as parental divorce, substance abuse, or violence, (m) HIV counseling, testing, and referral, (n) after-school programs such as day-care or supervised recreation, (o) services for gay, lesbian, or bisexual students, (p) child care options for teen mothers, (q) enrollment in WIC or accessing food stamps or food banks, (r) enrollment in Medicaid or SCHIP, (s) job readiness skills programs, or (t) ways to promote a positive school climate.” (State Mental Health and Social Services Questionnaire, Items 22a–t)
