Recreational Water Illness Prevention Week, May 24-30, 2010
The week preceding Memorial Day has been designated as National Recreational Water Illness Prevention Week. The fifth annual observance will take place May 24-30, 2010. The 2008 RWI Prevention Week was highlighted in the MMWR as a Notice to Readers: Recreational Water Illness Prevention Week --- May 18-24, 2009.
Our goal is to highlight the importance of healthy swimming, healthy swimming behaviors, and recreational water illness prevention. This will be done by emphasizing operation and prevention tips for pool operators and pool patrons to ensure a healthy swimming experience.
