ASHA is a multidisciplinary organization that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of youth in schools as a foundation for academic success.

ASHA's Program in Action

ASHA is funded to provide Capacity-Building Assistance for Preventing Chronic Diseases: Promoting Coordinated School Health Programs (CSHPs).

  • Providing capacity building assistance to State Education Agencies (SEAs) in developing guidance to increase the sustainability and effectiveness of coordinated school health policies and programs for Local Education Agencies (LEAs.)
     
  • Providing capacity building assistance to LEAs in adopting and supporting the implementation of effective coordinated school health programs.
     
  • Promoting improved communication among CDC/DASH Funded Partners, non-governmental organizations, state leaders, members of higher education communities and other federal agencies as the host of the Coordinated Health Education Network (CHEN) listserv.
