NPCR–EDITS Downloads

Hardware and Software Requirements

EditWriter 4 and GenEDITS Plus are based on Microsoft® Windows® versions XP and subsequent. The minimum hardware requirements are the same as those of the operating system used. If your computer runs Windows satisfactorily, it should do well with these programs.

Run-time metafiles produced by EditWriter can be copied for use on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and other platforms.

Installation Instructions for GenEDITS Plus 1.2.5

GenEDITS Plus 1.2.5 has been updated for use with NAACCR version 12.2 records. With an appropriate Metafile, it also will check data saved in earlier versions of the cancer registry standard record layout. There are no new features in this release beyond the ability to work with NAACCR 12.2 for 2012 cases.

Download GenEDITS Plus, setup_geplus_1.2.5.exe (executable file, 2.6 MB, December 16, 2011) to your Windows desktop or another location. Double-click the program's icon to begin the setup program. If someone else is responsible for maintenance of your computer, you may not be able to install software. In this case, consult the maintainer of your computer for assistance. Instructions for using GenEDITS Plus are in the online help within the program. Click the Help button for a description of the functions and controls.

setup_geplus_1.2.5.exe contains the NAACCR_v12_2.rmf NAACCR Metafile. It also installs the current versions of the Edit Engine (4017) and the Collaborative Stage dynamic link library, version 020440.

Installation Instructions for the Edit Engine Dynamic Link Library

June 3, 2011: Users of the Edit Engine should re-install using installer version 4.0.1.7. A rare combination of conditions may cause the Edit Engine to generate incorrect edit messages. A description of the specific conditions leading to the problem is in the release notes within the zip archive. Developers should make sure that their clients receive this update if their products are affected by the issue.

These instructions apply if you have a program that makes calls to the Edit Engine and you want to upgrade to the latest version. Download the compressed file EDITS Edit Engine Dynamic Link Library, EngineDLL_4017.zip (ZIP file, 248 KB, June 2, 2011), unzip it, and copy the included DLL file to the folder where your program expects to find it.

Installation Instructions for the Edit Engine Source Code and API

This section applies to developers who wish to incorporate NPCR-EDITS into programs that do not already use the Edit Engine. Download the compressed ZIP file containing the Edit Engine source code files, EngineSource_4017.zip (ZIP file, 187 KB, June 2011) and the Application Program Interface documentation, setup_editsapi_4.0.1.0.exe (executable file, 898 KB, June 2010).
